Our correspondent writes: "The Purple Fish Eater faces onto a badly paved road junction adjacent to the works entrance to the new Galata Metro bridge, suggesting little more legitimacy in car parking than catering.

"The possible Trabzonspor theme suggested by matching purple and blue colour scheme of the kiosk and adjacent "grilled fish on coal" sign discounted by faded internal "Fenerbahçe cup winners" poster.

"Other facilities include pair of non matching 'Queen Anne' padded office chairs, prayer rug (folded), '69TL fine for smoking' sign and an overflowing ashtray."
