Kiosk 221: Ani. Pristine white empty quadruplex.
There is nothing more to be said about this picture except for OMG!
Our correspondent says: "This kiosk complements the stunning Christ the Redeemer in
Ani,
on the Turkish-Armenian border. Built by the Armenians in 1034,
destroyed by lightening in 1957, an American-funded project is currently
leading the restoration. At some point, a piece of the 'True Cross' was
supposedly brought from Constantinople and housed in the church.
Unclear what is housed in the kiosk, as it is currently off limits due
to works. Correspondents best guesses are standard-issue Ataturk
calendar, unused US-issued hard hats and a lack of goodwill towards
Armenia."
