Umraniye



A spectacular grubby white monplex watchtower with satellite communication equipment, flood light and decorative potted plants. All that is missing is a mirror-shaded bull with a shot gun.

Let us hand over to our stalwart correspondents, who are kulubbing again after a brief hiatus.

"This one was spotted at a plant nursery near Umraniye on a drive back from the Black Sea this weekend. The contents are unclear (except of course the standard issue Ataturk, but its function is clearly to keep marauders from nicking plants during closing time. I particularly like the two satellite and the precarious balancing act.
