Hayal Kahvesi, Meşelik Sokak  (Oak Forest Street). A lonely white duplex behind the locked iron gates to a formerly ornate "pasaj" (arcade) near Istiklal, Istanbul.

Hayal Kahvesi was one of the first establishments to spearhead a renaissance of the Beyoglu district in the late 1990s after decades of neglect and decay. Let's hope it survives the coming year of redevlopment.
