Meşrutiyet Caddesi, Pera

Contains, like many others do, a Turkish flag and (usually) some bloke sitting on a stool.

Our correspondent snapped this lone duplex in the fashionable Pera district of Istanbul, where can be found the sumptuous Pera Palas Hotel. The hotel has hosted none other than German spy Mata Hari, Nazi sympathiser and abdicated king Edward VII and anti-Semitic crime writer Agatha Christie. You can go there for half-priced cocktails during the week. Order a Screwdriver.

UPDATE: June 6, 2014. The same kiosk taken in daylight from Tarlabaşı Bulvarı up Şimal Sokak to Meşrutiyet Caddesi. This translates to Field Head Boulevard up North (in Azeri Turkish) Street to Constitutionalism Avenue.

UPDATE: June 19, 2014. a kiosk found half way up Şimal Sokak outside an Italianate building just visible on the left in the picture above. It is one of many architectural gems of this part of the city.
