In a new series, we examine "proto-kiosks," those structures that formerly and functionally resemble the classic fibre glass kiosk and serve a similar range of purposes but are altogether more ad hoc. We call this series "Kiosk Origins." 

Our correspondent writes, "Here's a self-respecting kiosk down in Dolapdere. I guess this fellow's thinking is, 'if I keep it clean maybe nobody will realize it's a shack built right on the sidewalk.'"
